DEMAND BETTER DEVELOPMENT AT 6014 NE MASON

An application has been made to develop the vacant lot at 6014 NE Mason (currently goat pasture). We are a group of Cully neighbors committed to ensuring that any and all development at this site is in the best interests of current and future residents. Specifically, we want to conserve mature native trees (pictured, scheduled for removal) and protect pedestrians and property from increased road traffic.

November 15: Cully Association of Neighbors Meeting

Please join us on November 15 (6:30-8:00 PM) for the Cully Association of Neighbors (CAN) Transportation and Land Use committee meeting, in person or via Zoom (details below). The meeting will consist of two presentations by guest speakers from PBOT, followed by a neighborhood discussion about development proposals, including 6014 NE Mason St. The PBOT delegates may be able to address concerns about pedestrian safety on Mason St, as well as their assigned topics. Please be aware that the development discussion is for neighbors only (not the city). The 6014 NE Mason St proposal appears to meet all the requirements of the latest zoning code. When this is the case, the city does not request or require input from individuals or neighborhood associations; consequently, in the steps listed on the development notice sign, this project, if approved, will proceed directly from Step 1—Information Development Notice, to Step 4—Building Permit Review (there will be no public comment and no public hearing). This meeting is therefore a vital opportunity for neighbors to come together to share their views, fully understand the development process, and explore ideas beyond Bureau of Development Services (BDS) process for driving change.*
